“Use this rare opportunity to bring about profound change that will drive Nigeria’s development,” Pastor Sam Adeyemi to #EndSARS protester

Pastor Sam Adeyemi, general manager of Daystar Christian Center, created a council for #EndSARS protesters across the country.

The Man of God, who noted that most generations rarely have the opportunity to lead the kind of change they desire, told #EndSARS protesters to seize this rare opportunity to bring about profound change that will lead to Nigeria’s development.

Adeyemi called on the protesters to be peaceful and to take part in the elections when the time is right.

He tweeted;

“1. Rarely has a generation had the opportunity to lead a change like the one it has brought to Nigeria’s youth right now through #SARSMUSTEND. It crosses the fault lines dividing Nigeria.

2. My dear young citizen, you must seize this rare opportunity to bring about profound changes that will lead to the development of Nigeria. The systems you encounter are strategic and tactical. They could be steps forward. You have to think long term and at a pace.

3 Speak firmly but peacefully. Don’t give in to violence. Don’t quote someone else’s script. Lightning has enough power to light up a city, but it destroys because it has no structure. When the time is right, switch to participation in the political process.

4. The police officer who injured you is also dehumanized by the system. He is paid pennies and forced to extort money in order to sew him a uniform, keep the machines in working order and take part from the bosses. Fight for him and his children.

5. A generation before you had this opportunity 26/27 years ago, when the results of free and fair elections were canceled. The protests that followed gave rise in part to the democracy we enjoy today. Remind the chosen leaders that you are simply continuing to fight.

6. Some of you will be governors, senators, presidents, executive directors, etc. In 10 or 20 years from now. Keep the vision of a developed Nigeria in your heart. Make a commitment to value human life, be honest, promote justice, serve excellence, and develop leadership. God help you. #ENDSARS “
