Video of Oyigbo Police Station in Rivers State was set on fire

Oyigbo Police Station in Rivers State was set on fire during the #EndSARS protest across the country.

The Daily Trust reported that a police area on the Port Harcourt / Aba Highway was seized early Wednesday morning October 21 and set on fire by unknown arsonists.

An eyewitness reported this to the publication;

“It started at midnight on Tuesday when we started hearing gunfire.

“Bullets flew from all directions and we took cover, because my house was very close to the police station.

“I heard them shouting that the mission was revenge for the murder of innocent demonstrators in Lagos.

“They put a militia tank in front of a militia station with a burning driver.

“They got into the station and then set fire to the police station.

“Another policeman was shot.

“We did not sleep at night.

“All the police officers in the police station, as well as in the barracks, fled.”

Rivers State Police Headquarters Public Relations Officer Nnamdi Omoni confirmed the story and also said that Police Commissioner Joseph Mukan will visit the police station to see it in person.
