Security officials finally arrested Brotherhood leader Eye Akibu Tikare, who terrorized the residents of Ogun State at the scene of the robbery.
Ogun State Police Public Relations Officer Abimbola Oyemi said the cult suspect was “previously wanted by the Ogun State Command.”
According to Oeyemi, the suspect, identified as 26-year-old Akibu Chikare, was detained on Saturday October 24 by police from the Ogijou Division.
Chikare, as DAILY POST learned, “was arrested after a distress signal received at the Ogijou branch at around 9:30 pm, when a group of armed robbers acted between Gbaga and the Kamalu area in Ogijou, robbing him. people from their property with aimed guns. “
Upon receiving the information, Oeyemi said that Ogijou Police Department officer, CSP Mohammed Suleiman Baba, quickly brought his men to the scene and arrested the suspect with the help of some members of the lynching group.
Oeyemi said that other members of the group, believed to have fled from the Ikorodu and Owutu areas in Lagos State, had fled.
“Some of the victims identified him as one of those who stole their property from them, including, but not limited to, phones and cash,” it said.
The suspect was shot with a local, double-barreled short-barreled pistol.
Meanwhile, Police Commissioner, KP Edward A. Ajogun ordered the transfer of the suspect to the state traffic police, ordering to find the escaped suspects.
