We are the bearers of justice, the voices of the world
According to SAN Vice President Yemi Osinbajo, at a decisive moment in the country’s history, the church must be the light of the nation and Christians as bearers of justice and the voice of peace.
Professor. Osinbajo delivered the warning yesterday at the 16th Nigeria Pentecostal Delegates (NFP) Biennial Conference at Michael Okpara Square in Enugu, Enugu State.
Speaking about the theme of the conference “Everlasting Light”, Professor Osinbajo said: “We must carry the Gospel of Jesus Christ, knowing that it is a beacon of hope and relief for our people. As bearers of the Gospel, we are reconciliators in the head. ”
According to the vice president, “we are salt for the wounds of the nation, we are the voices of peace and unity where disagreements and conflicts have arisen. We are the administrators of justice for all who are deprived of power. The good news is that this light is unquenchable. “
Explaining the essence of the matter, the vice president said, “What kind of light is this? It is the power of the gospel of Jesus Christ, the son of God, who came into this world to pay the price for our sins so that we can receive eternal life in peace and joy. This Gospel is the power of God to heal and transform people and nations. “
“For I am not ashamed of the Gospel of Christ, for it is the power of God for the salvation of all believers, first of all Jews, and also Greeks. This is the wisdom of God, ”added Professor Osinbajo, quoting from the Holy Scriptures.
The Vice President previously conveyed congratulations from President Muhammad Bukhari to the outgoing President of the NFP, Rev. Felix Omobud, on the successful and brilliant completion of his term, and congratulated the new President, Bishop Francis Weil Oke.
Prof. Osinbajo also thanked the outgoing president, Reverend Omobude, for his invaluable service to the NFP, especially in the way he handled the affairs of the body “with impeccable honesty, paternal understanding, maturity and divine insight.”
Regarding the leadership of the outgoing leadership of the NCP, Professor Osinbajo said: “Under your able leadership and in cooperation with the Christian Association of Nigeria, led by our brother, Rev. Dr. Supo Ayokunle, I have attended several visits in solidarity. I am infinitely grateful to you for those visits that have greatly strengthened and inspired me. “
Appreciating the gradual transition to the leadership of the NFP, prof. Osinbajo said, “I have to thank the regular electoral process that has resulted in the emergence of an undisputed president and deputy.”
“It should be so. The NFP certainly has a lot to teach us as politicians. We pray that the Lord will give this leader good success in Jesus name, ”he said.
In recognition of his position and support for the Christian faith and exemplary service to humanity, the NFP awarded the Vice President with the Special Defender of the Faith award.
Accepting the award, the Vice President thanked the NFP for the recognition, stressing that “there can be no more desirable preference than that given by the brothers,” and adding in prayer that “you will all receive more than just honor from people here on earth. but also in other countries. ” the end is also from the Lord God Almighty in the name of Jesus. “
Enugu State Governor Ifeani Ugwuani also received the NFP Defender of the Faith award at the event.
In addition to Bishop Wola Oka, who was elected President of the NFP, Archbishop John Praise Daniel, Presiding Archbishop of Dominion International Churches, was elected Vice President.
