We commissioned an investigation – Lagos state government responds to shooting of protesters in Lekki #EndSARS
The Lagos state government responded to the shooting at the toll collection point in Lekki, where ENDSARS protesters gathered on Tuesday evening, October 20.
In a statement, State Information Commissioner Gbenga Omotosho said an investigation into the incident had been ordered. Read the statement below
There have been reports of shooting at Lekki Toll Plaza following a 24-hour curfew imposed in Lagos State to stop criminals hiding under #EndSARS protests to wreak havoc among innocent citizens.
The state government has ordered an investigation into the incident. Governor Babajide Sanvo-Olu has advised security officials not to arrest anyone because of the curfew, which urges residents to observe the peaceful atmosphere we all love.
Advise the Lagosians to remain calm and not allow the criminals who have kidnapped the noble protest of our brave young people from their evil plan to overthrow our dear state.
