We plan to fund hospitals, make migration unattractive for doctors, says the Minister of Health of Nigeria.
Dr. Osagi Ehanir, Nigeria’s Minister of Health, said the government plans to improve funding for hospitals to make migration unattractive for the country’s doctors.
Ehanir made the comment Friday in Abuja after visiting a new cancer center at the National Hospital in Abuja.
He said: “I felt the challenge of doctors leaving the country. We plan to improve funding for our hospitals in Nigeria and make this migration unattractive. ”
He added that steps have been taken to prepare for a potential second wave of the COVID-19 pandemic.
“Schools are rebuilding, people are going to and from the country, so we must be prepared for any emergency,” he added.
