The pastor, named Afolabi Samuel, was sentenced to three years in prison by the Lagos Special Crimes Court in Ikeja after he was convicted of stealing $ 90,000 and $ 4.5 million from registered church trustees.

However, after defense lawyer Rotimi Ogunwui pleaded with the court to mitigate justice with mercy, since his client, who realized his mistakes and changed his statement from innocent to guilty, is responsible for the education of his children and the care of his elderly parents, Judge Dada provided a condemned option of a fine in the amount of 1 million pounds and ordered him to pay the church $ 90,000 and 2,358,000 manats.
