Woman whose son was killed in the shooting of Lekka opposes claims that no one was killed
The mother of one of the victims of the execution of Lekki spoke about the tragic murder of her son.
A woman who claims to be the mother of Anthony Okechukwu, a young man who died in the shooting at Lekki, denied claims that no one was killed.
Shortly after peaceful demonstrators were shot on 20 October 2020, images of a young man named Anthony Okechukwu, who was killed in the shooting, began to appear around.
The woman who claims to be Anthony’s mother now spoke from her base outside Nigeria. He said he found out about his son’s death online when he saw his circular photo.
She explained that she called her other son, who is in Russia, and he confirmed to her that her son Mmazuo Anthony Okechukwu, 23, had died of gunshot wounds.
The mother thanked her son’s friends who stayed with the body.
He said, “First of all, I want to thank his friends who have been holding him since he was shot.
“If not for his friends, perhaps the soldiers who lifted the other body would have taken it and said that no one had died.
“These children saw when Anthony fled with gunshot wounds, they stayed with him.”
He then called the Nigerian government and said no one was killed.
He said, “I cannot understand what happened. Many of our children, many of our young people have been killed. And many have the audacity to go out and look at everyone, at the whole world, to say that no one has died.
“May death be with you.”
He said that the body of his son is now in the morgue in Lagos.
