Yorubas will lose the most in the war against Fulanis
Oluwo of Iwo, Oba Abdulroshid Akanbi, warned the Yoruba to stop the war against the Fulani in the southwest.
Oluwo said that “the way of life of many Fulani does not deserve a fight, as they usually only lose their cows.”
The statement, personally signed by the monarch on Friday, calls on pastors to respect human dignity.
He also encouraged Yoruba to think about their brothers in the northern parts of the country.
“The ongoing Yoruba-Fulani saga is a fragile issue requiring a witty and technical approach. Undoubtedly, actions such as murder, kidnapping, rape committed by rotten eggs among the Fulani deserve condemnation.
“As a people, we need to understand who to fight with. I consider Fulani to be part of the house. And most Fulani are not in their origin. They moved and settled.
“Their most valuable object is cows. Most of their facilities are mobile. Is this what we want to wage war against? “
“The Fulani declaration of war will be humiliatingly transformed into a war against the Hausa. Fulani is only part of the house. What will be the fate of billions of Yoruba investments and property in the northern states?
“If their cows can be moved, how are our innocent sons and daughters in the northern states moving their investments and property? I see that the Yoruba loses more in case of war.
“I urge everyone to respect human lives and walk the path of honor, supporting peaceful coexistence. War is the enemy of humanity. What war can do, the world can do better, ”he added.
