You must run in the 2023 presidential election, Deputy Governor Ebony told Governor Umaha
Mr. Kelechi Igwe, Deputy Governor of Ebony State, asked his boss, Governor David Umahi, to run for president in 2023.
Igwe said this on Tuesday, December 29, when he led the state’s executive councilors to visit Umaha in his hometown of Uburu, Ohaozar Local Government Area (LGA).
Speaking during the visit, the deputy governor said council members would remain loyal to his administration.
“This particular visit is unique because it is the first time since our participation in the government that we, as a people, decide to change the political mechanisms.
“When you announced that it was time to move on, many of us hesitated to consult, but in the end they decided to move in with you. I have to admit, some of us didn’t like the APC, but they decided to join because of you. So, we are declaring that you must run for the presidential elections in 2023. “
Governor Umaha, for his part, advised council members to continue to support the All-Progressive Congress (APC) as it is a party that provides a platform for Igbo people to properly assess themselves.
“When you are here and there, they will not take you seriously. People feel that they can wake up and stab others in the back, forgetting that everything is wrong and people have different fates.
“Count all those who have betrayed us since 2015, and you will find that they never got back on their feet. People want to try what others have done and succeeded, but God led us all to decide our fate. “
