In Akura, Ondo state, a Nigerian businessman was killed at the hands of assassins.

According to TheNation, the victim, identified as Babatunde Adeluk Olubasa, was shot dead at the hotel where she was staying on December 26.
The incident occurred at the Helena Hotel in the Ijapo district of Akure, the capital of Ondo state.
Witnesses reported that three armed men entered his hotel behind Babatunde after attending an event in Akura.
The witness said that he was shot in a hotel bar, where he relaxed for a drink.
According to the source, “The murder of Tunde was a clear attack on someone.
“The guys who killed him (Babatunde) asked him for a lighter in the bar. But he refused their request. Tunde’s reaction gave them the opportunity to enter into an argument with him before opening fire on him.
“After firing, they also attacked him with a small ax to completely strangle his life.”
Police spokesman Ondo ASP Ti-Leo Ikoro stated that it was murder.
Ikoro said State Police Commissioner Bolaji Salami has ordered a full investigation into the incident.
“We launched an investigation, trying to find those who killed him.
“This is murder. The moment this happened, there was no one in the bar except the girl from the bar. The girl from the bar said there were three people waiting for them.
“The deceased stayed at this hotel and left at some point. He came back and left again. When he returned, the attackers were already drinking in the bar. When he returned, he went into his room, took a bottle of wine and asked for a bottle of soda at the bar.
“When he approached the bar, three guys asked him for a lighter to light their cigarettes, and he said no. It was then that they pulled out their pistols and shot him. The attackers left the hotel when he abandoned the ghost.
“We are following their trail right now. The Police Commissioner ordered a full investigation into the incident. For you, we think this is murder. But the investigation will reveal everything that happened. “
