Young people sleep in government building and ask to fire former SARS officer accused of extrajudicial killings |

The young men have laid siege to the Anambra state government house to demand the dismissal of the former SARS commander accused of extrajudicial killings.

Furious demonstrators have laid siege to the Anambra state government home, demanding the sacking of James Nwafor, a former SARS officer who is now SSA for the security of Anambra State Governor Willie Obiano.

The intercepted protesters slept in the government home, demanding that Nwafor be held accountable for crimes he allegedly committed while with SARS Awkuzu in Anambra state.

CSP James Nwafor was the Chief Superintendent of Police who served as the commanding officer of the Intimidating Police Unit of the Special Anti-Robbery Unit in Avkuzu, Anambra State.

Even before the recent SARS protests began, Twitter users accused him of committing heinous crimes against Nigerian youth, most of which were taken to the gruesome SARS station in Avkuzu and never got out.

In July, a woman accused him of extrajudicial executions. He claimed to be responsible for the disappearance or eventual death of his brother.

Under the leadership of CSP James Nwafor, more youths are believed to have been detained at SARS Awkuzu before being killed and their bodies dumped into the Ezu River, Anambra.

Now the Nigerians are demanding that he be tried and held accountable if he is found guilty of everything he is accused of.

They also argue that a man charged with crimes of this magnitude should not be given a senior SSA post to the governor of the state where the alleged crimes were committed.

Youth gathered outside Government House in Avka, Anambra State last night and demanded an immediate investigation into James Nwafor’s CSP.

They said the protests would not stop until there was an investigation into CSP Nwafor.
