Zulum hails UAE for condemning Boko Haram sponsors Bukhari’s messages

Borno Governor Babagana Zulum expressed enthusiasm for the sentencing of the alleged sponsors of Boko Haram in the United Arab Emirates (UAE).

Zulum said he is glad that for the first time in 11 years, progress seems to have been made in tracking down some of the sect’s financiers.

The governor complained that Boko Haram has killed thousands of citizens, millions of displaced persons and damaged billions of naira in public and private property.

In a statement Tuesday, its spokesman Isa Gusau Zulum urged President Muhammad Bukhari to establish a multistakeholder committee to track the findings of the UAE study.

He noted that such information, if confirmed, could be used to expand research by other Boko Haram sponsors inside and outside Nigeria.

Zulum suggested that the team includes representatives from the Ministries of Justice and Foreign Affairs, National Intelligence, Military Intelligence, Joint Multinational Task Force, ECOWAS and others.

Recall that in February 2020, the governor announced a two-day fast and prayers across the state against the dangerous terrorist group Boko Haram and its sponsors.
