Zulum orders 33 teachers’ houses to be renovated and shares food with 16,000 women.
Borno State Governor Babagana Zulum has agreed to restore 33 housing units for teachers damaged by the rebels in the city of Gvoza.

Governor Babagan Zulum, who met with teachers in Gvoz, ordered the renovation and refurbishment of 33 teachers’ private homes that were destroyed by rebels during their 2014 occupation, said assistant governor Malam Isa Gusau.
Six other teachers will also be recruited and sent to two of the city’s public schools according to their needs.
Likewise, the governor on Sunday distributed food to the 16,000 displaced women who had recently returned to Gvoza, in addition to the N5,000 donated by each of them.
The intervention was part of ongoing support for vulnerable community members whose livelihoods were affected by the insurgency, the statement said.
It is also reported that the governor has outlawed political crimes in the state.
